Tanya O'Connell, she/her, Licensed Paralegal
Tanya provides legal advice, representation, and advocacy across the full scope of paralegal practice.
Tanya has spent over two decades using the law to help folks find justice. With that experience, gained as a licensed private investigator, a law clerk and a community capacity builder overseeing housing, employment, and survivor support programs across grassroots initiatives to national nonprofits, Tanya brings a solution-focused approach to legal analysis, with a nuanced understanding of the barriers people face when navigating the legal system.
Tanya attended Humber Polytechnic in Toronto, where she earned a Diploma with Honours in the Law Clerk program. She later completed a Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies at Royal Roads University in Victoria and a Master of Arts in Social Justice and Community Engagement at Wilfrid Laurier University in Brantford. She has been a licensed paralegal and member of the Law Society of Ontario since 2026.
Tanya has written extensively for various publications and delivered presentations for nonprofit organizations, including Interval House of Hamilton and Hackergal.

Committed to community capacity building, Tanya founded and leads More Socks, Less Harm, a nonprofit outreach organization responding to high overdose rates and the prevalence of amputations among people experiencing homelessness in Hamilton.
Tanya lives in Hamilton, enjoys podcasts and running, and has two adult children.
